Camera Repair Work Order of the Week: Niban (Japanese for #2)

by Andrew on

This week’s featured camera repair doesn’t so much have to do with the damage done or the story behind it. You may recall our previous entry about Fire Ants & Electric Fields? Even for the experienced technician, opening up a camera to find bugs is quite the surprise.

So imagine opening up a camera to find this little cutie:

caterpillar in a camera

Yup, that’s right, a fuzzy wuzzy caterpillar. How did it get in there? Your guess is as good as ours. The little crawler had nothing to do with the repair but we think this could be a great premise for a children’s book. I can see it now, the story of a caterpillar wanting so badly to be the focus of attention like the beautiful butterflies all around her. She finds herself literally captured by the thing she desires to capture her image. From there it is a wild ride until she ends up in the caring hands of camera technicians that make her a mascot and use her as the focus of test shots. Eventually she emerges as a beautiful butterfly. The end.

Think you can come up with a better story? Let us know in the comments!
